SWAN and activists Natalia Isaieva and Elena Fiskova from Legalife Ukraine organised a 4 day-long training in Balti, Moldova between 24-27th of October for service providers and sex workers with the financial support of UNFPA. The training was organised in the frame of the Fast track HIV/TB regional project (Cities project).

A Memorandum to create an EECA Regional Communities Consortium has been signed on December 20, 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine. The goal of the Consortium is to unite the efforts of key populations networks of Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) in developing a long-term multi-country program on increasing efficiency and sustainability of national HIV strategies in the region.

Silver Rose is a sex worker-led organisation and member of NSWP and SWAN, representing sex workers and their allies. They bring together the leaders of the sex work community and their supporters. “We know what the problems of our community are and what are the solutions in the context of human rights and prevention of socially relevant diseases,” as stated on the Silver Rose website.

Amendments to the public nuisance laws in Serbia, known as “Public Law and Order” laws, increased penalties for sex work related offences. Anti-sex work campaigners pushed the government to introduce amendments that would also punish the clients of sex workers. The new laws punishes everyone who disturbs ‘public order and peace’ including noisy neighbours, panhandling, burning pyrotechnic products, organising gambling, etc.

The Sex Workers’ Rights Advocacy Network (SWAN) have organized a 3 days long Community Mobilization and Media training for sex workers that took place on December 5-8, 2015 in Budapest, Hungary. There were 10 sex workers at the training, who came from the countries of SWAN region, majority of which do not have formal or informal groups of sex workers yet.

Киеве - UNFPA (Фонд народонаселения ООН в Украине) совместно с Лигой ЛЕГАЛАЙФ провели тренинг по вопросам профилактики инфекций, передающихся половым путём (ИППП), и общим подходам WHO/UNFPA/NSWP/World Bank по внедрению клинических услуг и услуг поддержки для секс-работников.
