Open Society Foundations have examined sex worker-led programs that protect health and rights and have published a detailed and thoughtful report. The report describes programs in 5 countries: Kenya, Zimbabwe, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, South Africa. SWAN members from Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan, All-Ukrainian Charitable Organization «LEGALIFE-UKRAINE» and Tais Plus, took part in the report.

A research project on human rights abuses experienced by sex workers was conducted by “Amelia” NGO and released on the 5 of November, 2015. The project was financially supported by SWAN and the Robert Carr Foundation.

The research encompassed 73 sex workers operating on the territory of the City of Skopje. The interviewees were women, men and transgender individuals from the open scene, closed scene and the scene of Shuto Orizari (the district with the majority of roma people).

The International Network of People who Use Drugs (INPUD) and the Global Network of Sex Work Projects (NSWP) have written a briefing paper focussing on the experiences, views, needs, and rights of sex workers who use drugs. The Briefing Paper discusses existing research and writing, and also includes case studies from sex worker-led and drug user-led organisations on the perspectives and experiences of sex workers who use drugs, and on how best to meet the needs of this community.

SWAN proudly presents "A Guide For SEX WORKER HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS". This publication is aimed at sex workers of all genders and backgrounds, sex worker projects, human rights organizations and advocates. It contains practical information on how to start human rights documenting projects, to organize human rights campaigns and to use formal human rights mechanisms.
