Woman accused of running online prostitution ring out of USDA office
Federal prosecutors on Wednesday announced the indictment of Laurie Lynn McConnell of Kansas City on charges related to prostitution and money laundering.
The 26-year-old McConnell was a statistician for the USDA Risk Management Agency until April.
The indictment alleges that she and a Kansas City man who did not work for the USDA ran online prostitution businesses, hiring women to work as prostitutes in Missouri, Illinois and Kansas.
McConnell and the man, identified as 36-year-old John O. Miller, were arrested Wednesday. No phone listing could be found for either suspect.
