The Leading Article: Shouldn‘t we all benefit from prostitution?

If such a bureaucratic country as Germany can do this {legalize the prostitution}, why Lithuania could not? It is not a secret - prostitution exists. If so, then why wouldn’t the state collect taxes, for the benefit of each citizen? Isn‘t it ironic? Taxes gathered from prostitution would be used for people who really need support from the state.

Prostitution exists and always will, because it is a business that never ends. There is no secret that clients come to the prostitutes with psychological problems. So, one could even call the services prostitutes offer “therapy”, not necessarily physical. Why is it necessary to penalize that, or to pretend that it does not exist?” …
