National Network for Sex Workers’ Rights Established in Lithuania
So far the following organizations joined the Informational Network on Sex Workers’ Rights Issues (further– the Network): Human Rights Monitoring Institute, Vilnius Centre for Skin and Venereal Diseases, two women’s associations, one community center, NGO providing services to children who suffered sexual abuse and commercial exploitation, and Coalition “I Can Live”, which spreads information among its members, thus widening the Informational Network.
Establishment of the Network attracted attention of leading national media. Tree Lithuanian daily newspapers published articles about the project - Vakarų ekspresas, Klaipėda, and Lietuvos rytas. National Lithuanian Radio interviewed Chairman of the Board of the Coalition, Girvydas Duoblys, about the Network and its aims, and numerous news portal websites published information about the Network and its aims.
