SWAN Organises a Workshop in Bishkek: Monitoring the Roll-out of the SWIT and Meaningful Involvement of Sex Workers

Between the 14-18 of January 2019, SWAN and the Global Network of Sex Work Projects (NSWP) co-organised a workshop in Bishkek on Introduction to Monitoring the roll-out of the SWIT and meaningful involvement of sex workers.

Between the 14-18 of January 2019, SWAN and the Global Network of Sex Work Projects (NSWP) co-organised a workshop in Bishkek on Introduction to Monitoring the roll-out of the SWIT and meaningful involvement of sex workers.

The day before the workshop, agenda for the following 4 days was developed by the coordinator of the national sex worker led organisation Tais Plus, SWAN and NSWP staff. Stakeholders were identified and invited to be interviewed.

On the first 2 days the focus was on introducing the Monitoring and Evaluation framework, discussing the aim of the country reports and how it will be used as well as practicing interviewing skills, mapping and identifying the national stakeholders.

On the following 2 days, participants went over the framework and made changes to the questions to fit the local context and then practiced the interviews. Workshop continued with the participation of 5 stakeholders (OSF, UNAIDS, CCM Secretariat, AFEW and UNDP) to test the questionnaire finalised by the participants.

The participants will continue conducting interviews and write the country report card.
