The Polish Parliament discussed on its autumn session legislative changes that would prohibit any abortion in this EU Member state, even in the limited number of cases when it is allowed at the moment. The vote will take place in early 2007. The President does not support the changes, claming the recent law is a compromise. Women’s rights groups say the ban will cause even bigger rise in “abortion tourism” abroad, and demand liberation of the existing abortion rules. More

TADA, SWAN member from Poland, recently adopted a new system to collect data on social and health problems of sex workers, their access to social and medical services and opinion about legalization of sex work.
TADA’s aim is to identify the main problems of sex workers in the different regions of the country. Data analysis will point to the advantages and disadvantages of possible legalization of sex work. More

TADA implements a harm reduction program addressed to commercial sex workers in four Polish cities and regions - Szczecin, Gdańsk, Zielona Góra, and Warszawa. Its target groups are male and female sex workers, pimps, and their customers.

TADA promotes health and provides risks prevention and harm reduction services through street outreach, free distribution of leaflets, condoms and lubricants. The organization is active in public education and advocacy on HIV/AIDS/STI issues.  In its programs it collaborates with local government, state institutions, and the European Commission. More
