Following are the services offered by TADA to sex workers in Poland:

  1. HIV/AIDS/STI risk reduction by dissemination of condoms, lubricants, instruction on their use and education on diseases, infections and safer sex;
  2. Health promotion by motivating the clients to take up detoxification therapy, methadone treatment, routine medical checks up, or psychotherapy, as necessary.  TADA informs SW clients on various forms of social help available;
  3. Directing SW clients to the Crisis Intervention Center, which offers help and shelter to violence victims;
  4. Facilitation of social reintegration of sex workers by organizing training and workshop sessions that prepare participants for behavioral change. Offered are training in interpersonal communication skills and activation on labor market.

TADA is one of the partners implementing the Bordernet, a project of the EC Public Health Program for HIV and STI Prevention, Diagnostic and Therapy. (See www.bordernet-spi.de).  The organization also participated in the Rapid Policy and Response – RPAR. The aim of RPAR, which was developed with the support of IHRD, was to mobilize the Szczecin community to identify and implement effective measures to reduce HIV and other health problems among intravenous drug users. TADA is currently focused on the implementation of the Action Plan created in collaboration with local community. For more information about the program see www.rpar.org.

TADA is active in public advocacy and education about HIV/AIDS/STI.  It fights stigma against sex workers through education, website, leaflets, and media relations.

Since 1995, TADA has been working on the implementation of the National AIDS Program through contracts with Polish National AIDS Center. In addition to it, it collaborates with the National Bureau for Drug Prevention and with local government in the regions where it is active.

TADA’s Current donors include the National AIDS Center and TAMPEP Foundation. it has been a member of TAMPEP since 1999.
