Civic Association Odyseus has issued a press release to commemorate the 17 December – International Day against Violence against Sex Workers. In their press release the organization raises awareness of the public about the origins of the Day, its importance for the sex workers’ rights, and informs about the project “End of violence, time for rights”, which will be launched on 17 December.

Civic Association Odyseus has issued a press release to commemorate the 17 December – International Day against Violence against Sex Workers. In their press release the organization raises awareness of the public about the origins of the Day, its importance for the sex workers’ rights, and informs about the project “End of violence, time for rights”, which will be launched on 17 December.

Project „End of violence, time for rights“ should not only inform about violence which is committed on women working in the sex industry, but also to increase their legal awereness by through expert advice, articles and distribution of info-educational material. We will also provide training and info-educational material for the members of Police Force in which they will learn more about methods of work with this target group.

Civic Association Odyseus is one of the oldest organizations in Slovakia providing outreach social work. Since 1997 it provides low-threshold services with a professional and expert team of workers. These are mostly maintenance services to drug users, persons offering sexual services on the street and people living with HIV. In 2013, the association received two awards – Orange Prize Foundation International Award and ERSTE Foundation for social integration.
