Sex work was legalized in Hungary in 1999. Despite this, if a parent engages in sex work this might be considered sufficient to lose custody of the child. A considerable proportion of sex workers choose sex work to support their children. According to the latest survey by SZEXE, 50 percent of sex workers have children.
On 3rd of March in Kiev, during the International Sex Workers’ Rights Day, the first time in Ukraine, the march of sex workers took place.
The Manual has been developed with the support of the UNFPA Country Office and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The Manual analysis the sex work legislation in Turkey in specific relation to access to health and lists priority action areas for the Ministry to improve the sexual and reproductive health situation of sex workers in the country. Hundreds of copies of the Manual have been sent to the Ministry as well as to its local representatives in Turkey.

The Administrative Assistant will be working under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager and is responsible for managing SWAN office procedures and other tasks assigned by Operations Manager and Executive Director.
The Administrative Assistance must be a citizen or resident of Hungary. The Administrative Assistant should be committed to advance SWAN goals and mission and respect confidentiality of SWAN members.
The issues faced by sex workers vary from region to region. These differences are due to different laws, social and cultural contexts, but one common issue faced by all sex workers is their vulnerability to and experience of violence.
CEDAW Convention, adopted in 1979, is a widely ratified international human rights treaty, and it is unique because it specifically addresses discrimination against women. The Convention requires historical, systemic and cultural discrimination faced by women to be identified, and the impacts of such discrimination on women’s lives to be addressed by National Governments.
