The purpose of the round table is an open dialogue on the legislation and practices related to sex workers in Kyrgyzstan. Participants are Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Health, international organizations, human rights activists, Ombudsman Office and and non-governmental organizations supporting sex workers.
All of us are different but we have come together to put an end to violence against sex workers. December is a month that is marked by a number of important dates when people all over the world come together in the name of justice and equality for those, whose rights and freedoms are being violated. Having come together and feeling the support of our allies we would like to demonstrate our solidarity with the sex workers of Kyrgyztan and other countries and to prevent and fight violence against sex workers.
The exhibition has been put together by the art-project “Feminist kitchen” and the Silver Rose, the movement of sex workers and their allies to advocate for health, dignity and human rights.

At its 54-th session, the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) had a constructive dialogue with Macedonian delegation on the improvement of the situation of women’s rights in the Republic of Macedonia since the last reporting in 2006.

Russian public seems to have taken interest in such TV discussions as “should prostitution be legalized in Russia” which brought out various opinions and positions of invited “experts” on sex work. Unfortunately, not many journalists asked the opinion of sex workers themselves as to what are the issues that sex workers face every day, how the existing legislation impacts on their lives and safety and what legislation can bring to their doors.
We mobilized sex workers, allies and organizations actively involved in sex work issues across the country. Public hearing with participation of civil society, government structures representatives and sex workers took place in 6 cities – almost in all regional centres.
